Tom Suozzi for US Congress (3rd District)
After leaving Congress in 2022, after three terms, to unsuccessfully run for Governor; and then win this seat back in a Special Election in February to succeed the Fraudster George Santos who was expelled, Tom Suozzi is now seeking re-election for a full term.
Suozzi casts himself as a rare breed - a Moderate Democrat - and his record mostly backs-up that claim. He is a co-founder of the Republican-Democrat bipartisan "Problem Solvers Caucus" in Congress.
Suozzi supports restoring the home property tax deduction and mortgage interest deductions that were "capped" by the 2017 Tax Bill. He favors a strong national defense. And he favors stronger policies to secure the Border.
But Suozzi's stands are not just rhetoric: Suozzi has reached across the aisle to partner with conservative Texas Congressman Morgan Luttrell (R-TX) to fix the broken asylum system that allows border crossers into America - and then lets them loose and assigns them a trial date... in maybe 10 years.
And Suozzi has earned the hatred of the Communist dictators in China, for supporting the human rights of Tibet and the Uyghur people - 1 million of whom are locked-up in communist concentration camps - and for exposing the web of Chinese spies infiltrating our government.
He was even a target of recently arrested Chinese spy Linda Sun - Governor Kathy Hochul's former Deputy Chief of Staff - who tried at Beijing's request - to derail Suozzi's nomination early this year.
Suozzi's Republican opponent is former Assembyman Mike LiPetri, who represented a south shore (Massapequa) district for one term. LiPetri brings energy, hard work, and enthusiasm to the race - and has a promising future.
The Leader endorses Tom Suozzi for US Congress.
