Syosset HS Students Robbed, Heads Shaved, in Playground Assault

By Mark Demetropoulos
A late afternoon playground meet-up in Syosset turned into a horror of assault and humiliation, as one group of High School student teens hog-tied, robbed, assaulted – and even shaved the heads - of two other teens.
According to police, the two 17 year old victims were planning to meet up with three of their “acquaintances” at approximately 5:30PM at Crocus Drive Playground in Syosset.
Upon the victims’ arrival the three acquaintances - thought by the victims to be their friends - threw the two victims to the ground and began punching and kicking them.
The three attackers then taped the victims’ mouths and used a razor to shave their heads. The attackers laughed at the victims’ humiliation, and photographed them on their cell phones.
The three attackers then proceeded to rob the victims of their cash and belongings.
After completing this horrible crime, the three attackers fled the Playground area.
Nassau County Police arrested all three of the attackers later that day.
The three were arraigned this past Saturday in Nassau County District Court in Hempstead, in the Adolescent Offence Part. They were charged with second degree robbery, third degree assault and second degree unlawful imprisonment.
The Nassau Assistant District Attorney requested bail be set at $10,000.00 for each defendant, however Judge David Goodsell released the attackers under a strict 7PM curfew and requiring they wear electronic ankle monitors.
The Judge issued an Order of Protection against the attackers to have no contact with the two victims.
The three attackers’ identities have not been released, because they are minors. However, the three are in high school and attend Syosset High School.
