Oyster Bay Opens Skating Rinks

By Nolan Cleary

Ice skating season is officially open. The Town of Oyster Bay’s ice rinks have opened for the 2021 to 2022 season.

Guests hoping to head to the rink can go to the Syosset-Woodbury Community Park in Syosset.

The ice rink is opened to the public on Fridays from 4 to 6 PM, Saturdays from 1 to 3 PM, 4 to 6 PM and 7 to 9 PM, as well as Sundays from 1 PM up until 3 PM and 4 PM to 6 PM. A schedule will become available during the winter break.

"Ice skating is a fun activity for residents of all ages to enjoy, and the town's outdoor ice rinks provide the perfect setting to relax, unwind, and take in the wonderful winter atmosphere," stated Town Councilman Lou Imbroto. "Our outdoor ice rink facilities are the perfect antidote to combating cabin fever during the winter months, and are the ideal way to help make coping with the cold fun and enjoyable!"

In addition to the outdoor ice rinks being open, the indoor rink in Hicksville is also open year round.
