NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
the undersigned Commissioner of Public
Works, or his designee, will hold a public
hearing to inform the public and to
review the public use to be served by the
above entitled project, and to review the
impact on the environment and residents
of the locality where such project shall be
undertaken, prior to the acquisition of the
real property required for the project.
The hearing will be held on Tuesday,
November 28, 2023 at 11:00am, at the
Commissioner’s Conference Room,
Suffolk County Department of Public
Works, 335 Yaphank Avenue, Hamlet of
Yaphank, Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk
County, New York.
The project will be located within the
following geographical boundaries:
All that piece or parcel of land situate
in the Hamlet of Huntington Station,
Town of Huntington, County of Suffolk,
State of New York, being a portion of
Lots 40 and 41 as shown on a certain map
entitled “Alteration Map of Cedar Grove
Terrace” filed February 6, 1909 in the
office of the Clerk of Suffolk County as
Map No. 658, said parcel being more particularly
bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at the corner formed at
the intersection of the southerly boundary
of West 13th Street (Cedar Street) and the
westerly boundary of 4th Avenue;
Running thence, from said point of
BEGINNING, along the southerly side of
West 13th Street (Cedar Street) N 83° 00’
30” W a distance of 100.00 feet to a point
on the division line between the land now
or formerly of Deana R. Monaco on the
west and the subject parcel on the east;
Thence, S 01° 30’ 00” E along said
division line a distance of 100.00 feet to
a point on the division line between the
land now or formerly of Eric Nelson on
the south and the subject parcel on the
north;
Thence, S 83° 00’ 30” E along said
division line a distance of 100.00 feet to
a point on the westerly boundary of 4th
Avenue;
Thence, N 01° 30’ 00” W along said
westerly boundary of 4th Avenue a distance
of 100.00 feet to the place or point
of BEGINNING.
A total acquisition of 0.2270 +/acres
will be required.
All persons having an interest in the
project are invited to attend the hearing to
give oral or written statements and to
submit other documents concerning the
proposed public project known as Project
C.P. 8195.
In accordance with Section 32
and 33(
A) and (D) of the SUFFOLK COUNTY
CHARTER and Executive Order No.
152004,
Public Participation Act, in
compliance with Executive Orders No.
152004
and 402005
and Section 2411
of the SUFFOLK COUNTY CHARTER,
colloquially referred to as the “Citizens
Public Participation Act”, all citizens are
permitted to submit testimony, in writing,
to be made a part of the official record.
All such writings must be postmarked
within thirty (30) days of the scheduled
date of the public hearing exclusive of
Saturdays, Sundays, and Official
Holidays or on or before any adjourned
date for the submission of written testimony,
whichever is later, and must be
received within thirty five (35) days of
the date of the Public Hearing, exclusive
of Saturdays, Sundays, and Official
Holidays, or on or before any adjourned
date for the submission of written testimony,
whichever is later and are to be

Please take further notice that in
accordance with Eminent Domain
Procedure Law Section 202, Notice is
Hereby Given that those property owners
who may subsequently wish to challenge
the condemnation of their property via
judicial review, may do so only on the
basis of issues, facts, and objections
raised at the hearing or in any written testimony
that is subsequently timely sent
and received.
