Locust Valley School Board Gets New President; New Appointments

The Locust Valley School Board announced seven administrative appointments and elected a new School Board President and Vice President.
The Board thanked Superintendent Kristin Turnow for building a strong and talented administrative team, and announced the following appointments:
Lisa Czerniecki: Director of Counseling, Advanced Studies, Careers and Research.
Joseph Enea: Coordinator of History, English, &Business.
Dr. Kim Ferina: Coordinator of Mathematics and Science.
Karen Horoszewski: Assistant Superintendent for Business.
Ken Packert: Executive Director of Administrative Operations and Technology.
Michelle Villa: Executive Director of Human Resources.
Amy Watson: Assistant Principal at High School.
Ross Cohen: Elementary Principal for the Bayville Primary School.
“This exceptional administrative team has long been a cornerstone to the district’s educational community,” stated the School Board in a press release. “As they transition into new roles, they will continue to collaborate, enhancing their ability to serve the students."
"These talented individuals bring a wealth of experience, invaluable skills, and expertise to their positions, fostering an educational environment centered on the students’ successes,” added the Board.
The Board also saw changes in its own leadership, as School Board President Margaret Marchand stepped back and supported the election of a new Board President.
The Board elected Lauren Themis as the new President of the Board of Education, to succeed Marchand.
George Vasiliou was elected new Vice Present of the Board of Education.
Marchand will remain on the Board, and gave her warmest congratulations to Themis and Vasiliou who were her running mates in the recent school board elections.
