Congressman Nick LaLota (R-NY1) has a new antagonist on Long Island: The Communist Party.
The Long Island chapter of the Communist Party of the United States of America is organizing rallies with other left wing groups in Suffolk Country targeting Congressman LaLota.
The Communists and the other groups claim to be upset with the cuts in federal spending, and called a recent rally outside of LaLota’s district office in Hauppauge, that drew about 200 persons.
The Long Island chapter of the Communist Party advertised another rally on its social media calling for a town hall with LaLota that was supposed to take place on March 18th, however such protest seems not to have taken place.
The Communist Party of the United States of America website does show a protest by its Long Island chapter from last year – where only five persons were present.
In 2024, Linda Sun, a former top aide to NY Governor Kathy Hochul was arrested and charged with being an agent and spy for the Communist Party of China.
Communist Parties seized power in over 20 countries under the ideology of Marxism-Leninism, and are responsible for the mass murder of over 100 million people – the largest slaughter of human beings in the history of the world. They also set up a brutal system of crushing human rights, brutal police, death camps and mass torture.
LaLota responded to the Communists’ protest by holding a tele town hall on March 5th where he fielded questions from an open audience. Several participants confirmed that members of the Communists and their allied front groups had signed-in to the meeting.
According to LaLota he regularly gets up to 10,000 constituents participating in the tele town halls, and that he is not going to cancel events because of threats from the Communists.
After each question callers are asked to participate in a poll as to how they feel about the issues raised in the given question – with the results later published in the congressman’s social media.
During the town hall, LaLota fielded questions about questions dealt with birthright citizenship, the SALT cap deduction (which allows taxpayers who itemize when filing federal taxes to deduct certain taxes paid to state and local governments), government size and expenditure reduction being undertaken by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, how tariffs can help restart local industry, and the War in Ukraine.
