Huntington Bay is LI's "Most Envied" Community

By Maureen Daly

The Village of Huntington Bay, with a land area of just one square mile, and a population of just over 1,400, has been named the “most envied” community in New York.

A comprehensive survey was conducted by MovingFeedback.com, a relocation news service and website that collects information about people’s experiences while moving. They surveyed and ranked 175 suburban locations in their nationwide survey.

Nationally, Huntington Bay ranked third in communities with the most desirable lifestyle. Suburbs with proximity to desirable metropolitan centers were given extra points.

The only communities ranking above Huntington Bay were Calabasas, a suburb of Los Angeles, California; and Ponte Vedra Beach, a seaside community near Jacksonville, Florida.

“Our land and location are truly blessings, with our stunning beaches, the Bay, and the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets,” stated Herb Morrow, the Mayor of Huntington Bay. “Our Village was established by visionary founders who sought to protect all that we have for future generations. Additionally, our exceptional Police Department tirelessly works to safeguard all who reside in or visit our Village.”

Huntington Bay overlooks Huntington Harbor, and is home to the exclusive Huntington Yacht Club and the Head of the Bay Club. The village is known for its high-end real estate offering luxurious homes with breathtaking views.

The Village was incorporated in 1924. In addition to Mayor Herb Morrow, the Village Trustees are Barbara Beuerlein, Mark Dara, Jay Meyer, and Don Rave.
